Short film made with Civic Saturday Akron recognized in Humanitarian Action & Services and Belonging & Inclusion Categories

NEW YORK, Oct. 20, 2026 – OTHRWRLD, the New York creative production studio, and community partner Civic Saturday Akron announced today their documentary short “Everybody Eats: Akron’s Longest Table” has been named a finalist in two categories at the 6th Annual Anthem Awards: Documentary or Film in Humanitarian Action & Services, and Documentary or Film in Belonging & Inclusion.

The film from OTHRWRLD Stories, the studio’s documentary content arm, follows Akron’s first ‘Longest Table’, an open-air potluck with neighbors from across the city. Through the people who organized it and the people who showed up, the film shows how mutual aid can bring people from different walks of life together, especially in times of institutional neglect.

“At OTHRWRLD, we believe in the power of creative to shift attitudes and spur action,” said Jessie English, founder and Executive Creative Director. “Whether it’s a brand campaign, a music video or a documentary, we bring the same dedication to creative direction, storytelling, design and production. “Everybody Eats” shows what that looks like when we apply our skills to issues that matter, and we’re honored to be recognized by the Anthem Awards for it.”

“Civic Saturday Akron exists to celebrate community, explore shared civic power, and strengthen channels of mutual aid, said Kristy Clark, co-founder of Civic Saturday Akron. “We made this film with OTHRWRLD to share our story in hopes that other communities around the country will see that the simplest things add up to so much, and civic renewal can happen anywhere.”
