In the Big Bend region of West Texas, the U.S. government is planning a multi-billion dollar tax-funded border wall project that would run through some of the most remote and storied land in the country. Big Bend On The Line follows the ranchers, river guides, longtime residents and neighbors along both sides of the Rio Grande, as they stand for their land and their freedoms. While they might have some serious differences, they share the same love for the place they call home, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to keep West Texas wild.

Big Bend on the Line is part of On The Line, our ongoing documentary series about communities in make-or-break moments, facing challenges that could determine the future of freedom in America.

We began in Akron, Ohio, where our award-nominated documentary Everybody Eats followed a city sitting down together at one long table to talk about food -- who gets fed and who doesn't, and how that could change. Though every community is unique, we start every project in the same place: face-to-face with the folks living the story. We give them the mic and we make the film alongside them. This is community-emergent filmmaking, and it’s the heart of everything we do at OTHRWRLD Stories.

Have a community, cause, or initiative that deserves to be seen this way? OTHRWRLD Stories makes documentary films, series, and campaigns with nonprofits, civic and cultural institutions, and brands too. We'd love to hear your story. Send us a message at stories@othrwrld.nyc
